Rydon's Tower glitch?!?

On the 4th floor you are suppose to drag a statue to hold down the swaying floor tile to go up to the bottom part of level 6,but the game won't let me do it like in the PS2 game! Is this a mistake in the programming?!? I can't finish the tower! (This is a game card version.)

    It's a newer system and SD card...I'll try erasing all the pictures I saved from DQ8 and see if that's the problem...

    Still didn't work! Maybe jumping from my old broken 3DS to my New 3DS messed up the save data....I just deleted everything and I'll just start over,thanks for the advice.
