How do you do this bit?

I'm stuck on a bit where you have Epona, as an adult, but Ingo's locked you in the ranch, and Epona won't jump. PLZ HLP.

    Oh no, I can not bet the 2nd lap of that race... Oh well, move to a fence, press A or B, I think, then target L on him, then talk too him, then take the race! THAT IS HARD...
