A post where I talk about Berries.

Berries in Pokememon are an interesting concept. Unlike berries in the real world, they offer various effects depending on the kind the Pokemon consumes, such as withstanding a Super Effective attack, healing the user and even allowing the holder to move first! Here, we talk about their history and improvements made over the years.

    We go back to Generation 2, the time when a Pokemon holding an item was a new concept not seen in Generation 1. Amongst all holdable items, there were Berries, with basic effects that put the Pokemon at an advantage. There was the Berry that heals 10 points of the user's health, and the Gold berry that heals up to 30 points. The Mystery Berry restores 10 Power Points to a move when selected. For

    Enigma Berry. Generation 5 introduced no new Berries and none of the Contest Berries are in the game because of the lack of Contests. Generation 6 introduced 3 new Berries, one reduces damage from the new Fairy-Type, and two others raise stats if only the Pokemon is damaged by a Physical or Special move. ORAS brought back the Berries for Contests.

    Generation 7 introduced no new Berries as well. Now how can any of these Berries be found within the game? Simply, most of these are usually found planted throughout a game. In Generation 2, they are found growing on Trees between Kanto and Johto and can only be harvested once per day.     but rather Berries can only be harvested in Pokemon Dreams Park, which has since been closed. Generation 6 brings changes to growing them, as they can only be planted in the fields on Route 7 in Kalos, but trees can be found on routes that offer fallen Berries once per day. As with ORAS, it reintroduced the original system from Generations 3 and 4.
