Thoughts on Red and Morrie?

Do you use either of them? Were they worth the wait? What are their greatest skills?

  • I was planning on swapping out Angelo for Red if she could heal. She has fullheal, dance of death, and dance of life with her fan skills so she can be like a healer but without a multiheal she just isn't as good. (Oh well, fans for weapons don't look cool anyway.) Her roguery skills seem ideal for farming gold and items though. She seem to be mostly suited for grinding.

  • I didn't think I'd like Morrie but his character animations are so full of passion and personality. (Unlike Red whose animations seem copied from Jessica.) I like his weapons too. The metal mower skill for his boomerang looked good but it only worked well against the weakest metal slimes. His hammer skills seem to mirror Yangus's axe skills so I probably should have gotten that to hunt slimes.

  • I maxed out claws with Morrie because it feels right for a pit fighter and he gets a cool move called rake and take (or something?)--where he knocks down the enemy's tension AND does damage. Only Angelo's chuckles can do that but they don't cause any damage. Morrie-o's passion skills are cool too. They let you raise your tension twice as fast as other characters.

  • Maybe the worst thing with Morrie is how late in the game you manage to recruit him. He's pretty much a post game character for me along with Red and I'm always racking my brain thinking of any real uses for him.

  • One cool thing about getting these characters so late in the game is how they come with over 100 skill points for you to distribute. I've never saved up skill points like that so it was fun to be able to spend so many on everything all at once.

  • Between the 2, morrie is the most useful imo and is the best party member in the game as far as power goes. Being able to psych up 2-3 times in 1 go is a MAJOR gamechanger. Add timbrel of tension along with it and oomph with "hand of god" and watch morrie cheese through nearly everything lol. I even ohko'd lord of dragovian silver dragon form with morrie, i laughed so hard XD. He can also use-

  • Red's Blade Cascade (max knives) is broken as heck! Oomphed and tensioned up she can easily inflict tons of damage to singular targets or widespread damage against groups. And Morrie isn't that bad. That is, if you're lucky enough to recruit him after Arcadia. Otherwise, yeah, probably wouldn't use him. Focused on clubs and passion myself with him

  • -different types of claws against a variety of monsters so he'll always have an advantage over a specific species. As for red she's decent but nothing too special imo aside from crowd control and racking up damage quickly on single targets, but her attack power isn't too strong. She do have a few good support moves tho, she's more of a utility support character than a powerhouse but she has-

  • -a variety of uses depending on the situation. Overall tho morrie is the better of the 2 to me and is the best character in the game alongside the hero. Although hero has the most variety. "Dragon soul" and "Hand of god" destroys.

  • But as decent as both are, especially morrie, i still prefer using the original 4 heroes most of the time cause they all work so well together and is a perfect team. But morrie has been getting a lot of usage from me lately as well.

  • I focused on claws and clubs for morrie but claws is his best with him imo. Also i recruited morrie as soon as possible so he wouldn't be too far behind. Can't say the same for red since she doesn't join til much later. Least with morrie u have the option of recruiting him as soon as evil jessica is defeated so rank s can be reached at the monster arena.

  • his best wep* Red is still mostly good for crowd control and racking up damage on single targets but u have to buff her up for her to be able to dish out really good damage. Her dosh toss (think that's what its called) move is pretty strong too but it uses gold.

  • I wasn't lucky enough to get Morrie early--I didn't finish Rank S in the arena until after I got Stone Man. Morrie's passion can still help out in the Dragon trials though.

  • Morrie is all about claws and passion. Hand of god + oomph + tension 100 = 5k to 6k. And Morrie has specific claws for demons, beasts and DRAGON for more damage.

  • Red is fans and getting fullheal. Red has the best agility of the party and if you put the kunoichi suit and headband, she can easily dodge attacks. And if accelerate you can make her insanely fast. Her best offensive skill is the last of the knives, but Morrie or Jessica are better.

  • Also you're going to use them a lot on the Memory Lane dungeon. Those two + hero and Jessica are the best party for it.

  • Ah, good. Maximum tension Morrie one-hit killed the darksteel dragon. He really does make these post game trials a snap.

  • Anybody can honestly if their lvl is high enough and with some of their strongest moves. But morrie deals the highest damage to them more efficiently thx to them claws having type damage bonuses. I recently did the entire trials with just red and jess and was still 1-2 shotting most forms. Blade cascade and twin dragon lash was wrecking him.

  • Timbrel of tension makes everything ez so u can quickly get to high tension lvls with other party members too aside from just morrie. Imo that's the real game breaker, especially with 2 of them.
