Best Dragon Quest final boss!

What is your favorite DQ final boss from the series? I've only played on DQ1, 2, 8, and 9, but based on all of the final bosses I've fought, mine would be Rhapthorne from DQ8. Tell me what yours is and what game it's from!

Rhapthorne does indeed have a special place in my heart, being the final boss of my first DQ game. And thinking about it, he's very interesting from a gameplay standpoint, too, namely the first part of the fight. Can you prepare well enough to survive his onslaught while your team does nothing for a turn? Second phase was standard, but I'll give it to the guy for how unique phase one is.

Good ol' Rhappy's got a special place in my heart for being my first, but if I had to choose between him, Psaro from 4, and Corvus from 9, no contest: it's Rhapthorne everytime. XD

spoilers: Nokturnus from Dragon Quest VI [optional boss in the Post End game secret dungeon] Not the final boss, but toughest boss that I'd hard exp. challenged. Out of the series that I'd played from 4-9, part 6 is for a challenge.

Easily rhapthorne for me as well as most here it seems xD. In fact not just rhapthorne himself but everybody he possessed (mainly dhoulmagus who imo was more antagonistic than rhappy himself even tho it was rhappy controlling him) was an awesome antagonist and the lore built around him is so interesting and grand. DQ8 left a great mark on the series and is most ppls starting point.

4 wasn't my first, but it's the one that really got me into the series. The fight with Psaro is great in both versions.

I'm getting lots of comments for DQ4 and 6 having the best final boss. I'll see if i can purchase those 2 games and see them for myself. DQ8 final boss though is still my favorite.
