X Wedlocke # 1: I'm currently near Santalune with two couples & one single pokemon training my two couples for Viola's bug gym. Couples- Genji/Froakie ♂ (Aquacord town) & Nano/Spewpa ♀ (route 3 as Scatterbug evolved in Santalune Forest); Benny/Pansear ♂ (Santalune Forest) & Tess/Pikachu ♀. Single- Dux/Farfetch'd ♀. Most likely going to use Benny & Tess against Viola.

    A wedlocke is a variant of a nuzlocke created originally by the Pokemon Youtuber Marriland. It follows the same basic rules of a regular nuzlocke but instead of having a team of 6 you have 3 teams of two where each one is a "couple". If your starter is male you can only catch a female on the first route you come across & that will be your first pair vice versa if you get a female starter. (cont.)

    Now the gender of the 3rd pokemon doesn't matter but the one you catch after that has to of the opposite gender, also genderless pokemon aren't allowed. In battle you can only switch between two pokemon in a pair but not pair unless a pair dies. If during battle a pokemon dies its partner has to either fight till it beat the opponent or dies.     Also when it comes to finding a new partner, pokemon who have lost their partner take piorty over single pokemon unless you have a pokemon in the Pc of the opposite gender to replace the fallen partner or the Widowed & single are of opposite gender then they can be paired together. the Wedlocke Wiki explains this a lot better but I hope this helped explain.
