    What about the crew of the Falcon in the original trilogy? Hmm? They survived. That said he does have a point, there isn't a person's chance in space if they'd have survived. And even if they did they would have been stuck on that planet because it was completely decimated. If in some chance they survived AND found by the rebellion they would have been personally hunted by Lord Vader himself
