Views and subscribers

I've noticed on Youtube that only about a small percentage of subs actually watch the people their subscribed to. Let's Play channels suffer the worse, case and point Madamewario. Madamewario was a big let's player and got tons of views then those big views disappeared. Can someone tell me why?

    maybe their subs didn't get the notification, if they are subscribed to a bunch of channels, its possible, that's why they put that bell button, or maybe their subs didn't care of the content anymore, but didn't unsubscrice, which is also possible, but no one is going to admit that, even if is true.
