For easy hearts in BotW, I suggest collecting apples and Mighty bananas. Cooking five of each gives you a decent fruit skewer, with both recovering over 5 hearts. Plus, they are easy to find. Bananas are located in Southern Hyrule, and apples are in almost every tree.
