    Try saving and restarting your game. A friend of mine had a similar issue (grayed out hat menu so she couldn't access hats) and it seemed to fix itself after she restarted her game/powered off her system.

    Just tried it, but didn't work. Powered off the system and everything, too. What a weird glitch! At least I'm not the only one.

    Looked it up and apparently certain hairstyles don't work with hats. My character has a ponytail. I thought that might be the case, but still pretty silly, lol.
