Original songs vs cover versions.

We all have those songs we love, but often learn later on that it was a cover of a song from a previous era. I encourage all who are reading this to comment and share. I will list some songs including the original artists (or in some cases the first to group to have a hit with it) and the artists who covered it. Which version do you like better?

    Simon & Garfunkel wrote Sound of Silence. Though i like their version, i prefer Disturbed's new take on it. Both, equally emotional but Disturbed's higher octane power.

    I like both of the covers you mentioned. I prefer the original by Simon and Garfunkel, but it's a toss up on Cinnamon Girl. Tainted Love by Gloria Jackson, cvd by Soft Cell. Spirit in the Sky by Norman Greenbaum, cvd by Dr. and the Medics. Crash Course in Brain Surgery by Budgie, cvd by Metallica- Iove both versions of this.

    Marilyn Manson also did 'Tainted love' as well as 'sweet dreams' originally by Eurthymics. I like both. Soft cell still remain my fave version.
