Things to wonder about.

I was folding my clothes a few minutes ago,when a suddenly a thought came to my mind,"Why do people say the common string of words 'a pair of underware' when there is only one peice?" I then came to miiverse to seek your opinion on why people say "a pair of underware".

    Not all people fall to the term "pair of underware" but I certainly here people say it. Unless I'm a fool and completely I fabricated this without my conscious know.

    I say the same thing for pants, "I need to buy a new pair of pants" when I only mean to buy one. Its one of those things about English that doesn't quite make sense.
