    He felt somewhat guilty for being the one to put her back in place, but tried his best not to let it show. "...Yeah. The sooner we get this over with, the less interruptions we have to worry about." Carefully reaching one arm into the cage & onto the parrot's perch, Vera waited to see if it would cooperate. Sure enough, using her arm as a makeshift bridge, it walked out & stood on her shoulder.

    "What's there to talk about?" The bird replied standoffishly, turning ever so slightly to face Marisa. Haze once again stepped in, clicking her pen as she prepared to hear the parrot's testimony. If it refused to answer, she'd just have to force the truth out of it, either physically or via a rewrite. "Your owner, the man within the mist, & the disappearances... Just the usual stuff, you know?"

    The parrot once again spread its wings, & Vera flinched in response to the sudden motion as well as the weight of the bird on her shoulder. "I don't know any of that!" Dodging the mercenary's question for the time being, the white-haired one was quick to call the animal out on his blatant lie. "Don't play dumb. Just earlier, you admitted you knew why we we came here without us even saying it."

    Fang stood in the corner. "It's a bird. How would that be possible? What could a bird do?" He had gotten closer and a bit easier to see as he talked. "I like birds and all, but I don't think one would just have an ability, much less be experimented on to get one. It only now knows how to talk too, so, it wasn't to special to begin with."

    "Jeez, don't you feel any regret over losing your owner?" Haze mockingly berated the bird, though it seemed as if she had something else in mind already. "What a lousy & ungrateful one you are." As anticipated, the once-caged animal turned to face Haze. "So? Since when's he supposed to be my responsibility?" It narrowed its eyes toward the detective, doing its best to imitate a glare of sorts.

The parrot's face contorted into a poor imitation of a grimace as it attempted to mimic human expression. "Am not!" A sly grin adorned Haze's face as she raised her clipboard upward; she'd tricked him into reopening his eyes. "Got you, commoner~"
