What is anime?

I was talking to my brother and he told me about these cartoons that are made in china. He said they're called anime and are about coffee and green tea. Is this true?

    If you watch any at all don't watch SAO, it's overrated and is really just wasted potential and broken dreams. Try Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Fist of the North Star, or Berserk instead. These are MANime and will give you better taste and drastically reduce the cringe you will see in flashbacks.

    They are what one considers their favorite female character. For example: A low tier waifu would be a steriotypical anime girl (moe), they're everywhere and a dime a dosen. Mid tier are the cool ones like Laura Croft or Samus. High tier have trancended what it means to truely be a waifu like the Monalisa, the Statue of Liberty or Shrek.
