  I have this game on the NES Classic Edition. It sucks how when you die, you start the whole world over again. Thank goodness for save states on the NES Classic Edition!

  Virtual Console also has a save state feature, but it's limited to only one save slot. You could be really old school like me and play it (like it's) on an actual NES. Beat the game in one sitting, because there was no saving back in the day! Turn the game off, and you have to start from scratch. How many of you young'ns can handle that? ;P

  @Nin Gabe: They are also quick save, on the WiiU virtual console, quick save his not better than save state, which his mention by Triphound. And in World 1, the mini-castle if you defeat Boom Boom, and then you get a game over in World 1-5, or 1-6, 1-air ship(if you get gameover on your first visit, you can just start back at level 5, if you choose continued

  @Nin Gabe: If you got a gameover on your second attempt, on the air-ship it will stay at his new location, so you may have to beat a few levels that you already beaten, to reach it, and if you die at the air ship again it will move again, which you may need to clear does level again to reach it, the air ship can only move a max. amount of 3 times, and that does not reset, when you get a game over.
