    You can't coddle kids too much. There are things they NEED to learn one way or another. Saying "They're just kids" gives them an easy out. They need to learn character and they need to know the way things work. And you're right. They do want attention and if they see something that gets attention they will copy it.     Internet is, it's almost a given that this will happen. But yeah, there are a lot of behaviors that these young users partake in and they have to learn better otherwise they will keep doing it for the rest of their lives, or until they learn to do otherwise. It's better to drill it into them now than for them to find out the hard way later. They need the adversity to build better character.
