  • hi im daves friend. i saw your question on his post about the best way to get into monster hunter so i will do my best to answer you

    Yeahs1
  • my personal pick is monster hunter generation on the 3ds. the styles and arts sets it a part from all other monster hunter games and make it a much more interesting learning experience

    Yeahs2
  • now, the gear i have chosen is, a classic 3ds, non xl for a smaller, more comfortable and convinient size. a 32gb sd card. mhgen does not save on the cartridge, it saves on the sd card. so having it in dlc form makes more sense and will also be bound to your nnid if you ever lose your 3ds and request an account transfer to a newer 3ds.to have the utmost gaming experience,i use a ''circle pad pro''

    Yeahs1
  • giving me perfect camera control. the new c stick on the new 3ds was a burden for many people, myself including, leading to me reverting to the classic 3ds + circle pad pro. also, monster hunter double cross, its sequel, will let you carry your data from mhgen and allow you to completely remake your character letting you keep your gear

    Yeahs0
  • and nintendo states on their website that the maximum compatibility sd card for the 3ds is 32gb. and the sd card im refering to is a sandisk. now it doesnt matter for the classic 3ds wether its a sandisk or sandisk mini as it comes with an adaptor. but, getting the mini would be helpful as newer consoles are only compatible with the mini incase you ever wanna do a system transfer over to those

    Yeahs0
  • im personally gonna stick to the mini + adaptor incase nintendo ever decides to release a dual circle pad 3ds which would be way better than the trashy new 3ds they have now

  • if you, however, decide to get a new 3ds, im reading about people swaping th c stick with a playstation vita stick which seems to work better.you can look on youtube to see how to do it.but from my personal experience,im very happy with th circle pad and dont feel th need to go to such lenghs.the only advantage would be to gain the power to post in game screenshots onmiiversewhichdoesntseem worth it

    Yeahs0
  • oh thanks Rapheal..

  • did any of that help?..

    Yeahs0
  • Yes thanks , maybe i'll look for a decent priced copy of Generations this week.. my current system is the 2DS with a 16gb sd card ..

  • well with a 2ds, there is neither a new c stick nor the option to use a circle pad pro. you wont have camera control and youll be forced to L target all the time

    Yeahs1
  • if you have a wiiu, i think it would be a better experience to get mh3u as it has a second joystick for camera control on the gamepad

    Yeahs1
  • yeah maybe i'll pick up MH3U on WiiU .. i will probably upgrade my 2DS this year anyhow , but undecided what to as of yet..
