Interviews With Monster Girls thoughts.

This'll shorter than usual, since I'm better at finding flaws in a show more than good things and there aren't really too many bad things to point out. The way I'd describe it, it's kind of like Monster Musume with more thought put into it. Not as flashy (though one could consider that a good thing), but I actually care for the characters in Interviews.

  • Every genre has at least one really bad habit, and harem has arguably the most. For example: the girls/boys attracted to the MC only interact with said MC. Not in Interviews though. Takahashi the MC is there, but he's not really there to be a love interest. They treat him that way at times, but it's not a big part of the overall story. Plus he's an older man, which has never been done in a harem.

  • The idea of an older man in a harem with high school girls is strange out of context, but he literally has no interest in them outside of science and making their lives easier as monster girls. Not even sure I can call this a 100% harem, cuz as far as I know only 2 girls have feelings for him out of the 4. But yeah. I forgot where I was going with this...

  • If you wanted a Monster Musume with much less of the unnecessary bits, this is like the lite version. Even that said, I'd really love a Season 2 of Interviews over MonMusu. Cuz MonMusu already has so many following animated pieces of it already. I don't think I really said too much about the actual show... but it's good for those who enjoy cute shows with cute girls in them.

  • Been meaning to watch that one but I wasn't sure if it would be like MonMusu but like you said, (and anime reviewers on YouTube I watch), it's pretty much tame and actually has a good story without your typical fanservice biz.

  • Yes, every reason MonMusu was bad is completely absent from Interviews. And almost everything it does well, Interviews does better. I definitely recommend if you're curious.

  • I will give it a go after I actually finish Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid.

  • Kobayashi and Takahashi are quite similar I noticed, although obviously not exactly the same. If you like one, you'll probably like the other.

  • Yeah although I like Lucoa, (..for reasons) and Tohru better, Kobayashi may be the best character for being relatable to an extent. And I don't know why I didn't notice that before.

  • It'd be cool if they have those cutaway interviews like in reality shows...

  • Actually, the parent-like aspect of both characters is the strongest similarity. Their personalities are similar, but the way they think and do things are different. @San I thought it was gonna be like an actual interview, but it was way more interesting.
