    The tree only grows when you actually buy gem apples from the shoppe. For example I put $10, and only that much, and now my tree has four different sections and gives me 20 Gem Apples every 12 hours instead of five. If I bought 700 more gem apples, it would grow to the max and give more gem apples every 12 hours.
