    Well anyway, as far as I know, Digimon doesn't do the whole "event Pokemon"(or event Digimon) thing, so I'll give it that. If Mythicals like Mew and Arceus are banned most of the time, that should include any event not caught or or bred in the normal game.

    From what I heard they both started around the same time, too far in development to copy the other one. But I don't think it's that simple though.

    yea but I believe that due to the low production for the first game they didn't go bankrupt so I guess they tried again and fixed all the problems. even though pokemon had a bigger impact it didn't necessarlly come first. but yea pokemon for life.
