It's been awhile. The Black Arwing is pretty much expert mode. The enemies are bit more aggressive in this iteration, but you take less damage normally in a standard arwing. The Black Arwing multiplies hits as if it were expert mode, but more punishing. in my estimation: It's crazy how they fit in all these play-styles without additional difficulties. That's insane balancing per level.

    Too bad you can't use it in arcade mode. That would really get interesting since damage is doubled and you would only have one life.

    Agreed. Unpopular opinion: I wish arcade mode was slightly shorter in some routes. It's the endurance in an arcade run that'll wear you down.

    Not quite as long to perfect. As you become aware of possible hits/ secrets it makes the game longer just by performing all those sequences. The initial route takes like 2 or slightly more hours to complete. Maybe 3 if you're having trouble beating the game. The high energy for that amount of time makes you tired.

    I see what you mean now. That's true, after going through levels like Zoness in particular can really sap your energy- especially if you have to start over.

    Beta gets me, it's highly layered in strategy. It's little more precision styled than the rest. Protecting wingmen. Gauging the enemy battleships health. Juggling the smaller fighters. Using cornerian ships for power ups. Timing the destruction of the Super dreadnaught for the time bonus. It's just WOAHHH! By the time it's done right.
