Why do Kids & Teens play Call of Duty & GTA

I wonder why parents let their children play M rated games, one kid said because M = you have to Mature about it but it actually means 17+ also why are these games popular with teens it annoys mostly because in my whole year of 8th grade, I was the only Nintendo fan there

    I played Rated M games but I didn't play alot of Call of Duty and I didn't play GTA at all (I thought GTA was dumb) I played RPG games like Skyrim and others. Now I play anything I can find (except for things like GTA)

    I'm 13, but the difference between me and a bunch of immature little kids that play M rated games is that I don't curse and scream at people when I lose, I deal with it and move on. I find the people that scream at games really stupid and dumb. Tbh, I am a more mature gamer than half of the other gamers in my age group.

    They play these games because they are on a Bandwagon and want to look cool. That being said, I watched my dad play the original God of War when I was a kid. Willingly.

    But the only rated M games I play now are RPG's like Fallout, and I just play them for the story and action.

    Because kids think they're mainstream if they play games like those and because they're too afraid of being different they see every other game as "childish" or "not good". It makes me upset seeing just how many kids grow up only playing CoD or GTA when they're not meant to.

    i dont play COD or GTA but my brother dose and hes been playing them for ageseven when he was really young but i dont care for age ratings on game im allowed to play any age game i wont and thats the same with films aswell and my favourite game witch is Danganronpa 2 is rated 16 and my step mum dont care what age it is and i still play it

    I started playing halo as a kid. That's when I broke my arm. I was so excited I was bouncing on the bed and I fell off landed right on my arm.

    Well, my mom was perfectly okay with me playing South Park: The Stick of Truth when I was eleven, but that's because she knew that I was mature enough to not replicate the themes of that game. I don't think that I, personally, can say that about most underage CoD or GTA players, though.
