Does love really hurt sometimes?

This has been on my mind, but have any of you ever been hurt by the person you loved? Someone you THOUGHT, would never hurt you, but turned on you as they show their true colors? I had been hurt recently by someone I had loved ever since last summer, someone who I THOUGHT was the one for me, but she really wasn't in the end, and I was taken advantage of...

How do you get stronger from that? I'm already moving on and trying to forget my long distance love who took advantage of me, but I just need to know: How do you know if someone's the ONE for you? I had been cheated on, dumped in the past, and now, hurt and taken advantage of by someone who I thought would never hurt me.. am I just not good enough, is that it?

Getting hurt is all a learning process and essential part of life. There will never be a relationship that will be perfect. And to be honest, there's really no rush into finding the right one. Most sucessful relationships come from people who know who they are as a person. Not to mention its alot of work and responsibility. But when the times right, you'll know.

Catpu is right, they rarely work, but with enough trust and promise that you'll one day meet in the future, they ARE possible, and I'm not the type of guy that rushes into relationships, I mainly take my time with them, and think about who is really the ONE for me, I'm really careful about them, and I understand it's alot of work and responsibility

Considering that you're also young means you have all the time in the world. Once you reach college, you'll find actual decent people who know what they want in a relationship. I think you just need a mature partner whos grounded out in a sense where they take things seriously. Someone who will bring up issues or insecurites to fix together with you.

@Rage Yes, you're right, I AM going off to college in late August, and I do want to be with someone in the future who will support me in college, and not drag me down, guilt-tripping me for not being there with them...

woo, brother. i know exactly what you mean. after myself having a crush on someone for about 2 years, then finding out her true colors hurt. at times it can be hard to move on from stuff like that, but at sometime, ya just gotta pull through and move on. it easier said than done if ya know what i mean
