    You know hero? I remember all of that, I think you are pretty much spot on. Only thing that was not mentioned was when the 3rd parties got tired of nintendos "demands" and companies like Tengen started making games without the Nintendo seal of approval. That also began the shovelware in some respects if I remember correctly

    Indeed. Heh heh. It was fun to right all that down. But after I put all that out there, I realized how amazing it is that Nintendo has done as well as it has. Can you imagine Xbox or Playstation with poor 3rd party support? They would have kicked the bucket long ago.

    Hero with the history of Nintendo!!!! Your my homeboy hero hahaha! Nintendo is the only company that can survive without 3rd party, but the switch is going to change that. I told some of you on this thread that the switch would be a huge hit and fall it'll get even crazier.... believe me yet?

    You forgot to mention that during that whole time the best games were being made by Nintendo and sold much, much better than 90% of the 3rd party offerings. 3rd parties don't like Nintendo for that reason as well...

    @Mike- I'm glad you enjoyed my Videogame lecture. I think most of that historical info I remembered was from when the TechTV channel was a thing and they would do these great videogame educational programs. (Did anyone else here watch TechTV/G4TV back in the day?)

    For me though...Yes, it's fun to cheer on your favorite videogame company, but I believe that there are enough diversity in the gaming community for ALL companies to flurish! Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft should keep on doing what they do. Because competition breeds creativity. If the Switch didn't do well, it would've been game over for Nintendo hardware. I'm so glad things have turned back in

    our favor. Heaven knows who will be on top in a few years, so enjoy it while it lasts. As for myself, being a Nintendo fan since the age of 7 (When I had the original Gameboy and Tetris as my introduction to Nintendo)...I know how quickly the tides can change. Once I get a Switch, it's gonna be a great ride!

    I used to watch TechTV all the time, used to love Call for Help and The Screensavers. It used to be called ZDtv when it first went on the air if I remember correctly. Leo LaPorte was my hero, I still catch him once in a while in his tech report

    Hopefully you get a switch soon, overall I am happy with mine. As more games come out and more friends get one, the online will be more enjoyable. I still am not a fan of friend codes

    The main show I watched on TechTV/G4 was X-Play. Hmm. I wonder what Adam and Morgan is doing now. Oddly enough, other then Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the games I'm most excited to get on the Switch is World of Goo and...Seiken Densetsu Collection. I will be able to play Secret of Mana again...anywhere...IN JAPANESE!
