Question

What makes you want to buy a game more. A feature on nintendo direct or advertising on tv? Nintendo direct is mainly just wiiu owners to see but tv can show off to none wiiu owners.

    I think the old demo is a good way for advertising your game. I give most demos a go. Sometimes they convince me to get the game and sometimes they convince me not to. Demo for every game please.

    yes and no - if it's possible to take a vertical slice and make an effective demo then yes but it's not always feasible

    True. There have been some demo's that hurt sales because they rushed the demo or left out some important playability.

    with a demo you really want to tease people, leave them on a cliff hanger wanting more - hard to do in an open world game such as zelda effectively

    I agree with Lex. I still remember the Dr Mario commercial from when I was a kid. That was catchy and made me want to try the game even though I didn't particularly end up liking the game

    Wii had a good launch tv campaign and average campaign throughout it's life. (in the uk) n64 was just ok campaign (everyone remembers goldeneye and zelda adverts)

    Yes even the Xbox kinect commercials copies aspects of Wii tv campaign. Instead of the two men bowing ..... The KINECT BOWS in end of Xbox commercial

    For me fiercely supportive of Nintendo the directs do a lot for me than any 20 second TV add ever could. For the regular joe probably not so much but the merit of advertising to random people...

    ... diminishes with how established you are. I am sure adds on TV are only gonna sway children and their parents (and cost a fair bit) whilst Nintendo direct is "Free" and targets the people deep...

    Also with how social media is right now nothing is better advertising than getting your userbase to advertise for you and if you announce something on a direct thats crazy enough your mooks will talk!

    I also use miiverse by reading posts or asking people about a game. The only down side to this is that most people on the community already like the game and just say things like "its great" or just

    For x-mas I think a good tv ad campaign should work well, they could even plug the 2ds on the same advert.

    No sharing air time with 2ds!! 100 percent of commercials should be about Wii u and games... The 3ds is doing just Fine selling big quantities all over!
