    only the first enemies that appeared in the first level (not the prologue) can be recruted. carefully hit the to near death until they are lighting up purple and are slkwly fading way. now just draw

    you only need to draw a half circle ,have it go round the new recruits . the line will light up when they have been recruited.

    As mentioned, it's about using the wonder liner (it will be rainbow coloured if done correctly) when they are blowing up, represented by a purple light.

    If you overkill them, the light dissipates too quickly. One technique is to wait until the big guys summon his army of Doughgoo. Then when he orders them to charge you, use a spiky Unite Guts.

    That will be enough damage to kill them all and you can follow up with a quick wonder liner to recruit them.
