I like the wii U update so you can play wii games on the gamepad, it'd be perfect for when I'm at my student home with no tv. But the dumb thing is u still nees a tv to start the wii menu! :(

    You DON'T need a TV. Only a sensor bar (or alternatively two candles). Click Wii-icon, point WiiMote at sensorbar (you'll get haptic feedback, so you know when to click) and...

    when the Wii U has booted into Wii-Mode, just push the power button on the GamePad, it'll then display Wii-Mode =) A little bit tricky, but you actually don't need a TV for it.

    dennis: ok I'll try it cause but I don't know if it works cause your gamepad sensor doesn't work until u started the wii menu I think.

    dave: yes I hope so too. But I think it might happen cause when u use a gamepad button it reacts saying, its not possible. so that means the wii mode reconices the gamepad butten output ;D

    When you start the console you can hold down the B button to come to the wii menu and if you do it like that you will have the wii menu on the gamepad from the beginning

    Daim! Actually none of these 2 work! I tried it this week and after selecting it fails and sais i have to select it again on the tv. So in order for it to work u need to be connected to a tv! :'(
