i used sword magic skill on 3 chars to use thundaga and pirate skill double damage. last char used 2x speed up performer move so he didn't get to attack after he lowered his barrier.

thundara even, also was on hard so you might not need to go that far, the trick is to kill him in one turn unlike the previous bosses.

I had a full team of Valkyries with Specials ready. Defaulted until it changed colour, max Brave, Special + Judgement with each character and it died pretty sharpish.

Likely not the most efficient way, but it worked pretty well for me since my team is heavy on melee. (Also, this was the Fire Temple boss, right? I may have misremembered the name otherwise.)
