  • This is perhaps less of a criticism considering the genre, plenty of great puzzle games possess a similarly bare bones style in their earliest incarnations so how bothersome you find it largely depends on how much of an expectation you have for flashy graphics and effects on modern hardware. Personally, it wasn't much of an issue.

  • [Audio] The sparse retro techno beat is admittedly catchy, which helps since you'll be hearing it throughout the entirety of your play time. There is a part of me that wishes for at least one more song or a few more sound effects but what's here is pleasant enough and fits well enough.

  • [Replay Value] Other reviews have taken Blok Drop U to task for its small amount of levels, lack of game modes, sparse sound effects and rudimentary visuals. Yet, all these faults could be levelled at perhaps the most iconic puzzle game of all, the Game Boy version of Tetris. Blok Drop U has a perfectly fine gameplay concept and I enjoyed my time with it,

  • but what it lacks is something a game like Tetris has in infinite amounts, and that is replayability. Most players will make it though the games 30 levels in an hour at the most.

  • The developer is committed to providing more levels in a future update, free of charge, which is admirable but even with another 30 or 40 levels, that may still only be another hour or 2 hours of gameplay depending on the difficulty.

  • You might argue that this is more than acceptable given its low price and i'd have to agree but I still feel it's missing some type of score based element or some other hook/challenge to keep you coming back to the same levels again and again.

  • [Overall] A fun little puzzle game and a justifiable purchase, especially given the budget price and upcoming addition of new levels, but lacks replayability. [Score] 72% [Reviewers] Folkloner/Agentdave7

  • Very professional sounding review. Funnily enough, The Letter got slammed with similar reviews. You going to review more games in the future?

  • very good review. I'm not getting the game though

  • I played the game and really enjoyed it but the small amount of levels was disappointing. However when those new levels come out that should fix that problem!

  • I had fun with Block Drop U although my only niggle with it was the lack of competitivism like leaderboards, a try counter, a points system or a timer. I glad they are adding more levels though and hopefully we'll get some competitive play in a future update.

  • a decent endless mode would be where you have blocks fall, then a red block falls, and you try to get it on solid ground.

  • A well detailed review!
