  Arguably the easiest way to get black shards is to collect rhythm points. After you reach enough, the game will give you a crystal shard you don't have. The three easiest way to collect rhythm points are these: 1. Do the dailies, and play every day.   are directly from the song you are playing. Each gives you +30 rhythmia, to a maximum of +120. If they are also all the same gender, that is another +10. 3. Avoid playing online. You won't get rhythmia directly this way. :S You can also get shards through defeating bosses on quests, but it can be very hard to find black shards that way, and you only get the guaranteed reward once only. :S
