I'm trying to play through this critically-acclaimed game for the first time on Normal mode, and I'm actually hating it. It is ridiculously hard, I die around 20 times every level. I can't get to grips with the combo system so just end up button-mashing and the story is stupid and hard to follow. Somebody please tell me how to enjoy this game? Any tips, advice or counter-arguments are welcome!

    Yes the game is very hard the first time you play... I died a lot too when I got the game (and I'm still loosing sometime as you can see xD), but I played a lot and continued to die again and again. Training is the key of success! Normal mode is now a bit to easy for me :) (I'm now playing on difficult)

    It's hard for me also. I played Bayonetta 2 through on normal and it was much easier. Still can't do proper combos though :P

    Learn to use witch time. As soon as you do that, game become less frustrating. Try easier modes too (but disable auto-attack for preparing to harder modes). Good luck! ;)

    Thanks all, yeah I can use witch time, but I think I'm gonna restart the game on easy. I noticed there are two easy modes, which one would you recommend?

    Learn how to use the lollipops. everything after that is a breeze.
