MIIVERSE REVIEW #175 Anyone interested in reading more reviews (150+ a year) hit the follow button. I intend to own & review every pal & ntsc game on a Nintendo system. I understand nobody is a fan of every game (including me) but they'll ALL be reviewed regardless.

  • THE GAME I should probably point out for anyone new to these games you don't actually control any players during games you are purely a spectator and manager. You'll start of with your team (named by you) in the bottom league and must work your way up with your rag tag crew (that will be the ones you don't sell for new hopefully better players)to the top.

  • The game has no official licences but it really doesn't need one given you can name your own team anyway. You'll earn a number f special training cards during every game (friendly or competitive) and it's the use of these cards that may well ultimately set you on the long road to victory or the lowly depths of defeat. The number of cards you receive per game seems quite random

  • There are still some special teams you can play without the need for spot pass teams but you have to pay for the privilege given how much the game already is I haven't done so and have no intention of ever doing so and can't comment on how good they'd be.

  • Of course if you have the right cards you can still match them together in a training session and create combos that usually hugely improve player ability in various areas depending on the combo played. The game despite it's semi cutesy look is deep enough to keep many a would be football manager busy for a fair amount of time or at the very least until you've won everything on offer.

  • Street pass is included so you can play against teams of people you meet however despite me getting an average of around 50 street pass hits a week (sometimes over 100) I've only ever had a grand total of 5 street pass hits in almost a year! I do live in Yorkshire and none of the teams around here are much good so maybe that's got something to do with it.

  • There is also the option to play online games but I'm not the biggest fan of them personally. You can't make any subs or changes to the game once it starts so if you go in with the wrong set up you'll be stuck with it until the end of the match.

  • POSITIVES Easy to pick up and learn Combo training cards to figure out and unlock. Enough depth to keep most happy and offer hours of play Street pass integration. Online rankings & matches Occasional special tournaments & teams to play

  • ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT No official licensing for teams or players (it doesn't really effect the game) Challenge teams require more money to be spent on the game (given the start price this seems very unfair at worst it should have been play coin not real ones)

  • THE SCORE 8/10 I like football management games. It's one of the few games I play away from my Nintendo systems. This doesn't have as many stats or options as most of them but that likely makes it far more accessible to it's audience. If you have a love of football & always fancied yourself as a manager this is a great place to start!

  • i have to say 13.49 for this game does sound quite expensive for what it looks (i know people who have game may say it's worth it), much cheaper than many 3ds games i have bought in store,(not e-shop), but to pay extra for things that seem integral to a game sounds harsh. think i will skip this one

  • So it has DLC?

    Yeahs1
  • Yes it does have some dlc teams. Platying them earns you more traing cards for certain combos to level up your players faster. But you can still get the cards and do the combos from regular games (if you know the combos) The dlc isn't remotely required to play or beat the game.
