Chrom, defended by Marisa, is attacked by a level 15 Warrior. With 15hp left and a Bronze Lance swinging for 19 damage... Chrom is playing for all the marbles. The Warrior's Silver Axe has two 90% chances to hit for 35 damage. ... He also has counter. Chrom has a 100% chance to hit with his lance. Meaning even if he miraculously survives two 90% kill strokes, he *will* kill himself.

    The Warrior swings! Marisa is a Challenge character, so no support bonuses. With a 3% chance to save her Liege Lord, she deflects it! But Chrom is still dead. The Warrior still has Counter and 57hp, and a second killing blow. Chrom strikes with his Bronze Lance, with a 6% chance to critical ... for 57 damage!
