Nintendoland offered a number of good ideas, that should have ignited developers imaginations, but sometimes the gamepad has been ignored. Even in these games I still use the gamepad, because I've gotten use to having it's features on hand, and clicking on setting, or you tube, or Netflix, at the touch of a button on the screen.

..Amiibo's quite a bit in Smash, MK8, etc, and I'll used them in Hyrule Warriors, which I've not started yet. But that's not the primary reason I buy them. I would like a dedicated game for them, like Disney Infinity. I think playing a Wii U is the best way to understand it's appeal. I know some supermarkets have had some good deals on occasions. Manda- I'd like to add the gamepad can do everything the 3ds can do! Plus off t.v. play meaning others could be watching a movie on the t.v. while you play mario kart on the gamepad. Cool! As Jonathan said eliminates split screen in alot of games. One person on t.v. the other on the gamepad. Pro-controller is awesome. I use it for alot of games like Hyrule Warriors, Mario Kart. 80hrs battery life!

You can watch netflix on the gamepad are anything internet related. The only downfall is gamepad battery life. Short about like 3ds 4 hrs. I setup close so I can stay plugged in so not a problem, but worth mentioning. Amiibo's are ok. I really only get ones that help unlocking content. I tap my Link and Zelda everytime I play Hyrule Warriors for weapons. Guess that about sums it up.

Yes, you're right, and the commercials failed to get the message across. You had families/ friends laughing, playing, and having fun, but the person with the gamepad always looked liked they had drawn the short straw. Using the word Wii again was crazy. You could pick words at random and they all would have been better. Nintendo Moon, Nintendo Dolphin, Nintendo Wave, Nintendo 678S...Anything.

You know they won't. What really worries me is Miiverse won't get carried over, which is the kind of crazy thing you just don't see coming. How would miiverse work without a gamepad? I guess they can now develop a mobile app for drawing, but you're instantly using two devices instead of one.

It would be a strange decision because they need to have a social network. We all know the drawing and art side of Miiverse took them by surprise, so that's the only development problem they face in continuing it. I guess the options are draw on a 3DS or it's replacement. Draw on a tablet/Phone. Or have an attachment for the new console. Even with all three, you would see a reduction in artwork.

I know the peaches sound a little odd, but if works and tastes great. Just put a tin of sliced peaches in and some of the juice, and let it cook along with everything else.
