I was told that skirmishes in Lunatic had promoted units and max stats from the beginning of the game. As this screen shot (of a boss no less) shows, this is not true.

    Then the people who told you that were grinding or at least visited DLC maps for another reason. That's what causes Risen to be so strong.

    Once you beat chapter 4 [i believe] they all get boosted
