Lost Reavers Journal Entry... 1? As this is a beta, rather than the start of the whole game, I'm unsure as to whether I should label this journal entry as the 1st. I considered labelling it journal entry 0, but I might end up playing this beta multiple times. In any case, I'm testing out the Lost Reavers' beta. I have a Fable Legends shaped hole in my heart which I hope this game can fill.

  • I had to make this Miiverse post just so I could read everything on screen. The backstory certainly scrolls by very quickly.

  • I've heard that a lot of people have been playing as Sayuri, and it's no wonder why. She's the only character listed for beginners. I also feel she has the more distinct design; as I find the other characters to be a little bland. In any case, I'm going to be rather daring, and try out Shadowstalker first. I'll try out Sayuri later, but let's see how things go with Shadowstalker.

  • I wonder if there's any actual gameplay differences between beginner, normal, and expert characters.

  • There wasn't much challenge, given it was only a tutorial, but I feel the groundwork and controls of the game are pretty solid. The framerate was smooth, which contradicts what the trailers showed, so that is most likely only due to playing through the offline tutorial. I like Shadowstalker, and his ill fitting voice is hilarious. I think I will play through the other tutorials first though.

  • Apparently, this counts as a school uniform. Gage: I've just played through each of the four characters tutorials, and honestly, I don't feel the beginner, normal or expert classification makes any difference.

  • I've tried out each of the characters and it went about mostly to my expectations. I like playing as the melee characters; Shadowstalker and Sayuri, and am not a fan of the ranged characters; Dwayne and Victoria. What I did not expect was preferring Victoria over Dwayne; the latter effectively being a full on FPS character. I'm not a big fan of first person perspective in games.

  • So why make the classification?

  • My thoughts on the game so far are somewhat mixed, although they lean towards the positives. Conceptually, the game is great and the basic gameplay is a lot of fun. The ease of a level despends on how large your group is, and going through the levels with them is a lot of fun. Whether you have a good time can be rather hit and miss; when this game lags, it lags horrendously.

  • There's also the matter of the game sometimes taking forever to connect to an online lobby.

  • Gage: I have yet to have that problem. All my connections to the lobbies and the start of the mission have only taken around a minute or two at most.

  • I've had that problem numerous times.
