Don't know why, but I've had the strange urge to use old Neptune here. Sure every other Long-range sub outclasses it (Sans Sea bream and mini-boss) but it's got the capability to hold it's own when remodeled and in the hands of someone experienced.

These subs are what I think might be suitable for you want a guide on a specific DLC sub just say so and I'll see what i can do.

I don't want to put you out but could I have a guide on the HMS, Gato and Kilo. I'm probably asking too much :P It's alright if you're busy! Also I've noticed a lot of DLC subs are invested more in speed stats than durability and of course for a lot of people speed isn't a necessity, I had to bulk out the S-Class to make it sea worthy. I think the two subs you picked out are of few left...

that actually differentiate themselves so I think I'll go for those two, I'm all about dodging and fast fire and these subs fit the bill perfectly. That leaves me with one last slot for a DLC sub! Let's make it a good'un! GGs btw, unfortunately my internet -_- has been having some problems, especially on SDSW. Over this weekend I've had over 15 disconnects which as you can imagine is pretty...

steep and I don't think it's necessarily the games fault completely. I've been bugging pretty badly meaning it's very hard to get shots off on my opponents and that means I'm a sitting duck, at the moment some new fibre optic broadband is being fitted so I'm hoping they turn that on soon but it's incredibly debilitating, it really does add up on my loss count. I think I may have been the only...

guy to disconnect in our last match and my disconnect count is going up faster than I chow down on a plate of takeaway curry. But thanks for the help on these DLC subs, when I first entered the shop and used S-Class as my main, I didn't think of the repercussions involved. I'm a massive stress head in battle because in all honesty the movement isn't great...

No worries mate. Just hang in there till that fiberoptic is installed, I'm sure things will start to pick up from there. As for you're guide requests...

The Kilo and HMS X1 are largely similar subs both in stats and torpedo specs. HMS X1 has slightly more speed and Kilo has slightly more durability. Torpedo capacity of 6 and reload time of 5 seconds is pretty much the standard of mid range subs, lacking sustained fire but giving the foe very little time to take advantage of the inability to attack.

The primary weakness of both these subs is turning. While it dosen't take eons to turn like the Super cod or Victor III, it can still be a big problem if someone attacks from the rear, has squid 2 + sonar buster or if you come under fire from multiple enemies.

Both also suffer from competition issues. X1 Is overshadowed by the Garfish advanced due to having slightly higher stats than it in all areas save submerged speed and torpedo specs. The Riptide overshadows Kilo as a bulky mid ranged sub due to it much higher dive/surface ability and a faster turn with the Kilo's only real advantage being higher submerged speed.

The Gato offers more speed than the average long range sub whilst still retaining the trademark durability that long range subs are known for. It also possess unusual torpedo specs for a long range sub with a capacity of 6 being less than most but a reload time of 6 being shorter than most.

The high surface speed is useful for traveling to far-flung coordinates or if you need to flee and regroup in a team battle. The Gato is also quite a short sub relative to the other long range subs which can make attacks from the side trick to land, especially if the attacker is at a distance and the Gato is moving.

In terms of weaknesses Gato shares the traditional long range issue of a slow turning which brings to it the same threats to Kilo and X1.The slow rate of fire can also be a burden depending on the circumstances.

It also possess a fairly wide front which means you must remain vigilant while evading attacks to the front. while competition among long range subs isn't as fearce as the mid range environment its still there namely from Neptune Mk II.

Oh and I forgot to mention: Gato Struggles greatly at close range combat so try to keep the foe at a suitable distance if you can.

Thanks mate! From the looks of things, my final option will probably be the Gato. All the DLC subs have a unique designs but with the Gato's unusual torpedo specs, I think it goes down as being unique and has better turn than the HMS X1 and the Kilo, I feel the Gato has more advantages than it does disadvantages and not being a MASSIVE fan of mid-range subs I think I'll give it a try, the way...

MANUEL was able to use it before gives me hope that this sub can be quite the nifty fighter with a proper crew and possibly remodelling if necessary. I find it crazy how most of the DLC subs are actually overshadowed by the unlockables, I'd have thought Nintendo would want to earn some more off of the DLC shop but I guess it was happy to give us pretty poor ones in need of a remodel :P

Well only a handful can really be considered poor like the Blue Marine. Sure most of the DLC subs are outclassed but they still have the tools to hold their own. In addition the crew of DLC subs used to be 3 rather than 4 till a certain update.

The Blue Marine is only really good for running, much like the Snakehead, I guess it can be used as a stealth sub with the correct crew. Before the update when it was 3, I remember buying my S-Class and having to deal with that *shivers* But 3-4, there isn't really much difference, all DLC subs are in need of 6 crew slots. Also Fraser after much much work I've almost got 100% on paper jam bros!!

Only the Papercraft S-Rank battles left to go and the Boss Medley S-Rank too and then I've got the duplicate crown or whatever the item is called. Also after my exams, I'll definitely look forward to some SDSW with my new DLC subs!
