As somebody who has never gotten into Metroid, I am really enjoying this! Earlier today, I had to restart because I couldn't escape an area, but I honestly don't mind. I'm finding more clues now!

    Have you never enjoyed Metroid, or just never gave it a real try? All of the 2D ones are fantastic, especially Super Metroid. Primes are also great. Other M though... well...

    I played 3 hours of Fusion, then got stuck and gave up. I do want to try a Metroid Prime game at some stage though.

    If you have a Wii or Wii U, I highly recommend getting Super Metroid off of the Virtual Console. It is absolutely amazing!

    I played it recently, and it is still a brilliant game. Can't recommend it enough. Also, Prime 1 is absolutely the best of the 3. Definitely try it.

    I got Super Metroid when it was 30 cents, but I found it really hard! I also don't have a Wii or a Gamecube, so I can't play Metroid Prime 1 :(

    It might be hard to find, but you can play Metroid Prime Trilogy on the Wii U. And Super Metroid is kind of hard, but it's a wonderful game. Great challenge, great exploration, and fantastic bosses!

    I think I'll just hope that either Metroid Prime 1 gets put on the Virtual Console, or a new Metroid Prime is released. Much cheaper that way!

    Probably. I hope so too, but then again, I do have the Trilogy. haha. But remember, STAY AWAY FROM OTHER M. It's just... *sigh*. Not good.

    Sadly, yes. I'm a HUGE Metroid fan, and Other M was the only game I painfully completed. Controls, story, gameplay, voice acting... all bad. It was just a bad experience. I'd give it a 4/10. :(

    Other M is probably the reason there hasn't been any more Metroid games then! I hope there is, because I do want to try a Metroid Prime game at some stage.

    Well, Other M was only released 3 years ago. Metroid games are normally spaced far apart, unlike Mario and Zelda. I think Nintendo will release a 2D style Metroid for 3DS, honestly.

    Especially after the success of A Link Between Worlds for the Zelda franchise. Miyamoto even said he wanted to explore visiting old franchises in 2D again, and Metroid would be the perfect game to do.

    Miyamoto doesn't develop Metroid games though! It would have to be up to a team that would want to do it, or has already done it.

    I'm aware of that, but it sounds like Nintendo in general is interested in revisiting old franchises in 2D. I really hope for a 2D Metroid! It would officially make my 3DS my favorite console. :)
