    Simple: You need to save the world. Travelling through the time to rescue and find allies, find a way for killing the Hydra and her true form. The story is pretty interesting, believe me.

    lol, i get that bit but im right at the start and i dont get what im supposed to do. do i kill all the bosses first ? do i secure the balistas first before using them ? whats the right way to play ?

    Without spoiling, you don't have a chance to kill the Hydra in the beginning. You need to find a way to the camp and then the adventure will start. And yes, it's better to kill the Generals asap.

    If I remember well, they will show you the escape point once one ballista is destroyed and they manage the Hydra is too strong. So just keep an eye on your map. And your health.

    i'm progressing quite well now thanks sandy. your comments did help, the not being able to kill the hydra is where it clicked. without that i would of still been trying to kill it

    Believe me, I've tried on my own for almost an hour, but the life of the Hydra was always the same. Once I found the camp and found out what to do, I got it, lol.
