Ok, since you're all Pokémon fans here, what do you think of this theory? The Pokémon world, is the world that was created by the Dragon (M●THER 3) after Lucas pulled the final needle. The Pokémon are Porky's chimeras, (fused animals). This isn't my theory, it was already an existing one.

    How do I explain this... Porky is a villain in mother 3. Lucas is your protagonist character and you have a brother named Claus. Claus is brainwashed by Porky and then works for him. There are 7 'needles'. The needles are in place to keep 'the dragon' asleep. The dragon is like the 'protector' of the world, if you must. When the needles are pulled the dragon takes on the heart of the puller.

    Claus pulls 3 needles, lucas pulls 4. Since claus was evil and lucas was good this makes the dragon split into two. Anyway, when the dragon is woken up it destroys the current world and creates a new one. The animals in the current were all mixed-and-matched by Porky, fused with other animals, objects or elements. When the new world was created these creatures remained.

    By breeding, adapting, whatever, these new creatures became the ordinary 'animals' of the new world now known by humans as Pokémon.
