Are there any fire pokemon in AS besides numel, torkoal, slugma and vulpix? I hate vulpix, don't want a ground/fire type, don't like torkoal.

Hoenn is catered to water types, so fire types are very uncommon, especially in Alpha Sapphire. If you want a good fire type, you have to pick a starter. Having 4 different regions starters, at least one can help. I'm assuming you din't choose Torchic, so pick either charmander or infernape. The other two are good, but they take a little more time to train well.

I lied, charmander isn't available in Or and As, just X and Y. Sorry bout that. And infernape isn't available to late game. If you are still early on, try trading your starter to a friend and get Torchic. That way you get an amazing Fire type and have another starter. Win win.

I know charmander and chimchar aren't available in ORAS I've been playing Pokémon since Red & Blue.... I've bred my Sceptile so I can trade Treecko for Cyndaquil because charmander is overrated and I'm not particularly fond of monkeys. :P
