    Maybe Bonbon is a trademark of a sweet company. I'm only guessing though. Since it's not a common word in English it's possible.

    Bonbon Boulevard is the name of an area in Candy Crush, which uses a similar free-to-play model and similar gameplay. Maybe Nintendo, Genus Sonority and The Pokémon Company thought that with Bonbon Boulevard, the gameplay and the free-to-play model, they were risking a lawsuit from the Candy Crush developers, so they decided to get rid of the easiest one they could?
