    Reasonable. But I think Gengar's better in the Mega slot. Swap Sableye out for someone else, like a strong Dark or Ghost.

    It is useful because it leads to combos. While there are less Gengars on the board, there's more chance for the other icons to match. Plus he evolves very quickly; you should try him out. As for Meowth, there's so much that I don't know where to start, so you'd be better going to GameFAQs. Search the Pokemon Shuffle board there for Meowth.

    You need to match more. Try for 4 or 5. It takes practice. You may not get it straight away but you will. Try to set them up on the far right vertically. Two sets of two coins with a gap. Put the last coin in the gap.

    When grinding Meowth, take one fighter and three neutral pokes with medium power. Make sure their abilities don't interfere. Make sure you do enough damage so you can match 5 coins then kill it on the last turn. Mega Aerodactyl is hard to S-Rank but just beating it is easy.
