Dear Nintendo: I HAVE SO FAR SPENT ONE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY EIGHT POUNDS ON WiiU ESHOP AND NOW I AM SCARED THAT ONE DAY I WILL LOSE ALL THE DOWNLOADED GAMES DUE TO MY 1TB EXTERNAL WiiU HARDRIVE BEING LOCKED TO THE ONE WiiU SYSTEM. PLEASE PUT MY MIND AT EASE BY UPDATING WiiU'S SO I CAN USE MY EXTERNAL HARDRIVE ON ANOTHER WiiU SYSTEM. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

  • HOW much of your memory on your hard drive have you used. ? you can plug a second hard drive in another usb port and copy the data from hard drive to another. you then have that extra hard drive as a back up of all your games . Or if it's under 264gb of data ,just buy a flash drive ,there quite cheap . plug that into the WiiU usb and copy hard drive data to flash drive , then turn of -

  • - unplug flash drive and store in safe cool place.. flash drives work on wii U but are not stable for constant access , but as a backup their fine . then if your external hard drive packs up , you just get new drive ,plug in and plug in your flash drive of data and games on Wii U usb and copy your back up data from flash drive to your new hard drive.. of course yo would have to keep your back up-

  • - data up to date ..anyway did you know the Wii U has a system where it allows the hard drive to stop spinning and go to sleep mode when not in use. it only fires up when needed. this can be turned of through some strange configuration on Wii U to speed up access , but it puts presure on your hard drive . So the Wii U is already saving your external hard drive life.. but it's good to back up .
