    In Ranked maybe, but in my experience voice chat means loads of jerks get to bark orders at people and insult them if the orders aren't followed. Certainly not gonna create a positive experience in the normal matches, where loads of people just want to have some fun. If this were Team Fortress, sure, but Splatoon just doesn't seem to warrant it. Maybe if it had a different place in the lobby?

    Splatoon needs voice chat just as much as every other competitive arena-based multiplayer game. At the very least it needs more text commands; "To me" and "Nice" just doesn't cut it at all.

    I dunno, I think that'd make things way too serious for a fun little game like this. Like I say, for Ranked is fine, but I want it kept out of the Regular battles.
