  • I must admit your gaming art is simply amazing Steve, it's good to my friend J-Bone has found you. He is a good artist like his older brother :)

  • Brilliant pic for a brilliant game Steve well done mate. I remember playing Drake Lake and being amazed at the graphics when the fog cleared on the serene lake. Spent hours on this one of my favourites - completed it by learning to use the character who had really sensitive steering but forgot his name haha. Great job anyway!

  • Cheers Colgo! Yes, the graphics and especially those water/wave physics really amazed me at the time. Ah,that character was Dave Mariner... he was the fastest and indeed was hardest to control (although he looked like he'd eaten a few pies to many... maybe why lol!) Still the best water-based video game ever made in my opinion... although I did enjoy that Hydro Thunder game on Xbox few years back!

  • What WaveRace like on the GameCube Steve? I played the GameCube version of 1080 Snowborading, which I didn't enjoy so much as the N64 original and I heard similar stories about the WaveRa

  • Wave Race game as well. (I accidentally pressed send on my phone, before I finished my sentence).

  • That's the guy, Steve, too many pies on the beach. I agree this is still the best jet ski racer. The way they bounce off the waves, the feel and the physics are just right. Also that booming arcade voice haha! Hi Scott I played WaveRace on the GameCube - it was good. Better graphics and a solid game, but it lost some of the feel of WaveRace64 and wasn't as good as it in my opinion.

  • Cheers Colgo, I thought as much mate. The N64 had so many classic games, I don't think Nintendo have bettered it yet. The Wii U had/has the potential, but we are still waiting for many updates :)

  • Yep, I liked Wave Race Bluestorm, but it reused the N64's original tracks and only added a couple of new ones, so just seemed a lacklustre sequel. It had a much better UK Pal conversion than the former though! Actually still have my copy of it... In fact might have to dig out the ol' GameCube from the loft this Bank hol weekend... maybe also have a blast on F-Zero GX Scott! :)

  • My ex partner had a GameCube Steve, which I brought a few games for and I loved the look of F-Zero GX, but found it harder then the SNES and N64 versions. Wii Fit U has some new games and reuses many old ones too. I seem to remember 1080 on the GameCube having different tracks, but I also had SSX Tricky which was more fun too :)

  • Yes, F-Zero GX is superb and agree it's a hard game... almost like you needed super human reactions and the speed is almost vomit-inducing, lol! The original deluxe Arcade cabinet version always looked real cool too. It's probably the best game Nintendo/Sega have collaborated on! :)

  • Its great to finally get Wave Race 64 on the eshop (well in EU)... It still plays as good as back in the day! Unfortunately I'm a bit disappointed by the emulation/conversion. Its apparently meant to be the superior US/NTSC 60hz N64 version, but it still has massive black borders around the screen (tv and gamepad)! Surely Nintendo could have optimized it better?

  • That's cool Steve I'm happy to hear it's on there. Will be having a bit of a purchase of it when I get home ;)
