The Avatar in the bad future did not lose their memory, for reasons revealed in Chapter 23. I do wonder what they were like beforehand, though. Probably at least a bit similar to how they are now, just without the amnesia.

Perhaps more cruel and/or selfish and/or power hungry if they can easily give up on people and become an evil g∅d. Or they weren't as social, but that's boring! J.P is most likely right though. Probably the same without amnesia.

I don't think he willingly accepted Grima. Validar had the full power of the Fire Emblem then, so when he mind-controlled them to kill Chrom, they had no way of resisting, and so then they were easily able to become Grima. Which is kinda sad, actually.

Whoops, yeah, you're right, I completely forgot about that. Well, I was tired when I posted that^^ That's a pretty good explanation, J.P. We know that at least the avatar in the Future Past didn't willingly accept Grima so it could be the same for the children's future Grima (although he doesn't show any signs of resistance).

I guess to add to the "no signs of resistance", the avatar at least CAN resist Grima as shown with Future Past Grima. So either Future Robin's spirit is dead or he doesn't care too much about it. Future Robin does have a weaker bond with the Future Shepherds as stated in the game when Chrom says that "our bonds are stronger this time".

Maybe Grima is also somehow stronger in the children's future. The strength of their bonds could have something to do with the avatar's lost memories. They could be stronger because he doesn't remember anything before that.

I think Future! Robin's spirit is dead, or is at least implied to be if she is Lucina's mother, as Grima says "your mother and father are dead". ...which makes me feel slightly better about the option to completely destroy Grima at the end, as my future self is already dead and I'm not outright destroying him too.

That's only the case if she's Lucina mother though. And even then I'd rather treat it as one of those times they simply didn't change the text. In any case I guess it's impossible to bring the future avatar back so I see it more like freeing them from their agony.
