Question

how do i play new game+

so i beat the boss, credits roll, and im back to the main menu and all i can do is start a new normal game or load my save before the boss fight. Anyone able to help?

    You are probably missing something. The ancient books are a clue.

    I was stumped by that once myself. Apparently, You need to have the three souls described in the books equipped when you defeat "Dracula" That unlocks the game's hidden bosses and true ending. And of course, it unlocks bonus content including New Game+. Just select the bat that appears above your save file after completing the game for real.
