Nintendo, please no.

Being a big fan of the 2-D Metroid games I was really happy about seeing the new Super Nintendo section in the eShop. But then I saw the "only for new 3DS" part. I don´t own one of these if you couldn´t already tell and I haven´t planned to do so. Also I don´t get why a older game from an older console apparently won´t run on my relatively new system.

    I'm lucky enough to have already gotten the new 3DS when this was announced, but i totally agree. it's unbelievable that the 3DS doesn't have the capabilities to run these games. it feels like a cheap ploy to get people to buy the latest console.

    I am relatively sure, that it's not possible to emulate SNES-games on the old 3ds due to hardware limitations. Too slow a system that is. Maybe you could play this game on Wii-U?

    Nintendo won't put a game on Virtual Console unless it runs perfectly - not even graphical glitches. They're quite fussy when it comes to this, and, as unfortunate as it is, SNES games just won't run as smooth as they'd like on the original 3DS.

    And SNES games take more to run than you think - the console actually has to emulate the entire hardware and chipset of the original SNES in order to run the games and this takes more load than you'd think. Still a shame that I can't play SNES on my 3DS though.

    They are prettymuch just doing it to push the hardware normal 3DS should be more than powerfull enough to emulate SNES i mean the hackers managed to do it with old DS but nintendo apparently cant do it with 3ds.

    They're doing this to make people buy the New 3DS, not because of hardware limitations. Worse yet, they bring out GBA games for WiiU but not for 3DS/New 3DS...
