    it was the first rpg ever, and nintendo uses the franchise to introduce new gaming concepts. The other game makers of action/adventure/puzzle rpg games ussaly take those same concepts and improve them for their own games.

    @BW: Zelda? First RPG ever, you say? HAHAHAHAH no. No it was not. Not by a long shot. I'm VERY sure that games like Ultima, Wizardry, Akalabeth, and Adventure predate Zelda by a number of years.

    @Chris. I stand corrected. you right, Adventure was the first rpg along with many other computer and atari games. The first zelda was merly a new type of rpg.
